Fish Presentation

9-foot-6-inch sailfish joins regional doctors for client appreciation event

Ripley, Tenn., June 5, 2013 – Executives at Emmaus Consulting, a health care consulting firm in Ripley, Tenn., recently hosted their annual appreciation dinner for some of the company’s West Tennessee clients.

However, physicians and clinic owners weren’t the only ones who attended! Emmaus Consulting Managing Partner Ruste Via presented a 9-foot-6-inch mounted sailfish to Dr. Jonathan Lentz of Lentz Pediatrics in Jackson and Lexington, Tenn., in recognition of his longstanding relationship with the company. The trophy was a life-sized replica of the sailfish Lentz caught during an Emmaus client appreciation trip to Herradura, Costa Rica, earlier this year. During the trip, clients went sport fishing on the 38-foot custom fishing boat Dream Girl out of Los Sueños Resort and Marina.

“We’re extremely blessed to have such a wonderful group of physicians and clinic owners as clients, and we express our gratitude for them whenever we can,” Via said. “We consider each one of them to be part of the Emmaus family, and we strive to get to know them on a personal level. In this case, we knew Dr. Lentz would appreciate a fish more than a plaque.”

The special appreciation dinner, which took place May 30 at Flatiron Grille in Jackson, honored several Emmaus clients and included a special welcome to new client Steve Cannady, nurse practitioner and owner of Family Health Care of Camden in Camden, Tenn. The evening’s agenda also included a discussion of the next client appreciation trip to Costa Rica at the end of the year.

In addition to Lentz and Cannady, other area medical professionals and their guests in attendance were Howie Freeman, chief financial officer and chief operating officer of Christian Family Medicine in Ripley and his wife Cherri; Bryan Wright, CFO, and his wife, Sheryl Wright, family nurse practitioner, of Dyersburg Family Walk-In Clinic and Reelfoot Family Walk-In Clinic; and Gary Osborne, licensed professional counselor, of Humboldt, Tenn., and his wife, Celecia. Lentz’s wife, Stephanie, and Cannady’s daughter, Holly, also attended the event, which was hosted by Via and his wife Sarah Jane, family nurse practitioner, and Shannon Haynes, Emmaus’ director of client development, and her husband Loren, registered nurse.
